Based on the importance of these drugs, the analytical methods are proposed. They are as follows:

  • IR method: This method is mainly based on the absorption of the radiation by the sample molecule because of the C-N stretching vibrations observed at 4.35–4.49 μm.
  • UV method: This method is mainly based on the determination of the UV radiation absorption by the sample which undergoes transition. This is carried out by dissolving the sample in the appropriate solvent and is measured at absorption maxima. These compounds are measured at 240-280 nm using hexane or ether as a solvent.
