Packaging Technology

Packaging can be defined as the science, art and technology that involves providing protection to the products for sale, distribution, storage and use. It also refers to the process of design, evaluation and fabrication of packages. A product is rendered unacceptable until it is properly packaged. Packaging also helps in easy identification of the products. Preserving the integrity of the products by the packaging material is important in the pharmaceutical industry. Selection of proper packaging material is based on the physical and chemical characteristics of the products.
