Creating a backup of your data is essential and should be considered integral to your creative workflow. You don’t ever want to need it, but it is vital to have.

There are many reasons to back up your data: to protect against hard drive or other storage media failure; to protect against corrupted data where a file is damaged and can no longer be opened; or to provide for disaster recovery to protect against the loss of your main facility and be able to reconstitute your valuable data at another site.
