Extreme Crops

Like the innovative ideas that came out of Japan, un-conventional or extreme cropping techniques are among other artistic concepts that traveled from the East to the West. Western artists have fully adopted the use of extreme crops in their repertoires. The subjects in photos treated with these extreme crops tend to be barely contained within the image area: they step out of or into the picture in what at first may seem like an arbitrary composition.
