THE NORTH
This tour takes you to Iceland’s far north. As on the first tour, leave Reykjavík heading north on Route 1 (the Ring Road) and drive along the west coast on the banks of the Hvalfjörður. This long fjord has a tunnel under it that costs 1,000 Icelandic Krona to use. Heading north for about half an hour, you will reach the small town of Borgarnes, which is an ideal place for a coffee break and to fill your car with gas. The combined flower shop and café Blómasetrið – Kaffi Kyrrð (www.blomasetrid.is) is a great place to take a break on your journey.
