Volleyball
Watching Olympic volleyball on TV served as my introduction to the game. I thought it looked pretty easy to photograph—but I was wrong. On TV, volleyball looks a lot slower than it does in real life when the ball is flying over the net. Regular volleyball involves six players on each side of a net that gets in the way and makes focusing difficult.
The key to successfully shooting volleyball is knowing the game. This allows you to anticipate where the action will occur and be ready for it. The basic volleyball moves to look for are serving, passing, setting, spiking, and blocking. Knowing when and how these are going to happen makes it easier to capture each move.
