Ed Kashi
Ed Kashi believes that documentary photography can make the world a
better place, and as a photojournalist, filmmaker, and educator, he has
devoted his professional career trying to do just that. He has
documented some of the most serious social and political issues of our
times, including the plight of the Kurds, the devastation resulting from oil
production in the Niger Delta, sustainability in Madagascar, and the very
serious problem of the aging population in America (Figure 3.15). He is
intense, passionate, and amazingly open, and not surprisingly, so are his
