Chapter 14. More Layers
In this chapter, you will learn about Photoshop’s intermediate and advanced layers features. Be sure to read Chapter 7, Layers first, though, to learn about basic layer operations. (Adjustment layers are discussed on pages 166–169.)
Layer opacity
To change a layer’s opacity or fill:
Choose an Opacity or Fill percentage from the Layers palette 
. The lower the Opacity or Fill, the more pixels from the layer below will show through the active layer –. You can’t change the Opacity or Fill of the Background.
