Quick Slide Mounts
About three years ago, I did a tutorial here in the Down & Dirty Tricks book on how to make your own digital slide mounts. The end result looked authentic, but getting there was pretty brutal, because creating rounded corners for your slide took a series of channels, blurs, Levels adjustments, and a host of other “pain-in-the-butt” steps. The tutorial took four full pages, and 10 to 15 minutes. Now it's down to three pages and 60 seconds—thanks to new features in Photoshop—and that's good because displaying your photos in slide mounts (for online portfolios, wedding shots, ads, etc.) is becoming popular once again.
