6. Making Selections

One of the advantages of using Photoshop Elements to edit photos is the ability to apply corrections and enhancements to selected areas in an image. Most photo-editing programs instead apply fixes to the entire image.

You can also use selections to create a protective mask for specific portions of an image. It’s easy to select one area of an image, apply a change to the rest, and keep the selected area untouched.
