As we state in the Introduction, our apologies for not including Camera Raw adjustments in some earlier releases of this book. As you find out in this chapter, using the Camera Raw Editor should be one of your frequent tasks for beginning most image editing tasks.
The forthcoming chapters (8 through 11) deal with making tonal adjustments, correcting brightness and contrast, and working with color. You should look at these chapters as using techniques to tweak your photos or add special effects. Your first stop, however, when it comes to improving your photos’ overall brightness and contrast is the Camera Raw Editor.
