Once an overall strategy has been established for developing the organization and the individuals within the organization training is one possible intervention that can be considered.
Training is one way, but not the only way, to cultivate learning within an organization. Learning organizations are ones in which individuals at all levels strive to acquire knowledge and develop skills that will enable them, individually and collectively, to attain higher levels of performance. The concept of a “learning organization” is fundamental to HRD, and is often supported through training initiatives.
