HRCI Core Knowledge
The HR Certification Institute (HRCI) has reabsorbed the “core knowledge” components that it used to cluster together. Now, each knowledge area is listed within the functional area to which it belongs. Nonetheless, each of these pieces of information is critical to both levels of HRCI certification, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Without a firm grasp of each of these knowledge areas, it would be difficult for a human resources (HR) professional to achieve certification and, more importantly, succeed on the job.
