8. RS232 Serial Communication
This chapter focuses on the communication protocol RS232 protocol. It provides an overview of synchronous and asynchronous communication. It includes detailed information on error detection algorithms, parity and baud rates. It also discusses serial LCD and regulation of its power supply. HyperTerminal and PuTTY are explained in detail. Information on programming for PC communication is provided. A two-way communication is established so as to send data from the PC to the PIC and vice versa. UART hardware built inside the PIC chip can be used to modify the Flowchart program.
