Sculpt the Light
Sculpting light in your photographs is very important. In my opinion, nothing is more boring than a flat photo with no dimensionality or shape. Buying a flash and directing it toward someone without any thought or purpose other than to illuminate that person with the flash is not light sculpting. Sculpting light is a technique that requires the right equipment and the manipulation of light sources in order to achieve depth and drama in a precise manner.
