14. Subject Emphasis
Proper subject emphasis must work in conjunction with posing. Placing your subjects in a great pose and then not drawing the viewer’s attention to them would be counterproductive. In a successful photograph, the pose creates a sense of flow and harmony with the main subject’s body, and proper subject emphasis draws the viewer’s attention via lighting or composition directly to your subject. This will, in turn, make it very clear that your well-posed subject is the most important element in the photographic frame, regardless of the photograph’s other elements.
