What Makes Pinterest Valuable?
Pinterest is basically a bookmarking site. Those are nothing new; Furl, del.icio.us., and so on have been around and popular for quite some time. Pinterest plays off the collector in all of us.
At the same time, Pinterest puts a brand new spin on the idea of collecting. It allows us to collect content we find online and keep it organized in a way that makes the most sense to us. Better still, it allows us to share those collections with others and to see their collections in return. In this chapter, we’ll look at the many reasons Pinterest has resonated so well with its audience.
