PRACTICE STRATEGIES
Peter interviewed well-known Mexican actor Jorge Rivero. He starred in over 170 movies. When asked how he deals with stage fright, he says he overlearns, particularly when making films in English in the United States.
Rivero developed this technique early in his career, and used it as far back as 1970 for the making of Rio Lobo, one of the last films of director Howard Hawks. In the middle of a climactic scene, John Wayne went up on his lines. Without having to think about it, Rivero fed them to him. He knew Wayne’s speech in its entirety and the lines of every other actor in the movie.
