It is clear, from the previous chapter, that any organisation can get into a real mess if certificates start to expire, if they have been forgotten about or, perhaps, simply have been placed in the wrong location. It is equally clear that, under the DevOps model, this situation is exacerbated and may easily lead to a great deal of wasted time and associated cost.
