XML Family of Technologies
There is a large and growing family of XML-compliant technologies. This section briefly discusses the main members of the XML family.
Some XML technologies are in a "finished" state; that is, they have been issued as a formal "Recommendation" by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Others are still in preparation. For more details about the process of developing XML-related Recommendations, see the section on W3C in this chapter.
