XML Document Fundamentals

In Chapter 10, "Introducing XML," you saw part of the big picture, looking at the W3C and how, in general terms, XML documents interact to produce Web output.

To use XML, you need to follow a whole raft of rules. Unfortunately, many of the rules of XML are not "intuitive," at least not to most normal human beings. There is no easy way through this. You need to look at an entire series of interconnected rules, some of which are expressed (at least in the official documents) in fairly opaque language.
