XML Editors

You will be able to work through the examples in the XML chapters using only Windows Notepad or a similar plain text editor and other free tools mentioned in this chapter. XML, when contained in a file, is simply text. Sometimes it is pretty complex text but, although XML files can refer to non-text files, the XML files themselves are simply text.

This section briefly looks at some alternatives to Notepad that you can use to edit XML documents.
