Planning a Project
If you have produced a few HTML or XHTML Web pages, you probably did so while more or less making up the content as you went along, adjusting various aspects until you were pleased with the result.
One of the changes in your work pattern which XML will push you toward is planning more carefully. You saw that to produce an XHTML page in the mini case study, you needed two files: an XML file and an XSLT style sheet to produce the final XHTML page. In a more realistic setting, you might also have a CSS style sheet linked in. And, of course, you would also have a Document Type Definition (DTD), described in Chapter 14, which would constrain the structure of your XML file.
