Moving Forward

If you have read the earlier XML chapters, you will have realized that XML is a continually evolving process rather than a fixed standard. In fact, "XML" (whatever that now means with a whole family of XML technologies already in existence) is not just one process, but is a whole series of interconnected standards aiming to solve an intimidating range of problems, hopefully in an organized way.

This chapter looks at three things—each of which is, in a sense, moving forward with XML.
