TCP/IP Tools
Windows XP provides a suite of TCP/IP tools that can help you diagnose problems with your connection, make Telnet or terminal-style connections to other users, and perform FTP. This section covers the uses of these tools.
Using TCP/IP Diagnostic Tools
Windows XP includes the following command-line tools for diagnosing TCP/IP problems:
Ping
Tracert
Pathping
Nslookup
NOTETo open a command-prompt window in Windows XP, click Start, Run, type CMD, and click OK. Press ENTER after you type each command. Type EXIT and press ENTER to close the window. |
