Sharing Printers
You can share any local printer on your computer. It can be a printer directly cabled to your computer or one connected via the network using LPR or other network protocols.
To enable printer sharing, do the following:
1. | Choose Start and view the Printers and Faxes folder. |
2. | Right-click the printer icon and choose Sharing, or select Properties and then select the Sharing tab. |
3. | Select Share This Printer, and enter a network name for the printer, as shown in Figure 18.21. Enter up to 14 characters, using letters, numbers, and hyphens. Avoid spaces if you have Windows 3.x computers on your network. 8.3 naming is recommended if Windows 3.x computers need to access the share.
