Sounds and Audio Devices

The Sounds and Audio Devices applet is a fairly simple and intuitive applet that you can use to configure and manage sounds and sound devices attached to your computer. Although the applet has five tabs by default, it is possible that you may have additional tabs if your sound card has extra configuration options associated with it.

The Volume tab (see Figure 28.20) allows you to perform basic volume and device configuration. You can control the volume of your speakers and whether or not to display a control icon in the taskbar for quick access to the Sounds and Audio Devices applet.
