Now that you can see how the director’s design function requires some very important decisions about what sort of stage to use in presenting certain plays, you are ready to look at the options open to you in deciding what kind of scenic materials to put on the stage you choose and how to light those materials. It should now be obvious that you can exert important leadership in shaping the direction of a play’s physical production.
