Following a Reading, a representative of the producing organization will usually thank the creative team for their work, in person or by email. The artists should respond in kind. Almost every Reading is a learning experience, and all theatre artists should be thankful to any organization that offered its resources.

Playwrights are also entitled to a follow-up discussion with a representative of any institution that presents a Reading of their work. At many festivals, the remarks by respondents or adjudicators following the Reading constitute the follow-up discussion. At most labs, conversations with the playwright following a Reading are an expected part of the process.
