WORKING WITH THE 3D CAMERA

3D layers and camera were introduced way back in 2001 in After Effects version 5.0, since which time plug-ins have popped up to help users get more from the camera and 3D. The now defunct Buena Software started it off with Depth Cue, a collection of plug-ins that added depth effects to 3D layers based on the location of the lights, camera, and the layer itself. The set included Falloff Lighting, Depth, Fog, 3D Composite, Rack Focus, Camera Mapper, and Flipside. Buena was acquired by Toolfarm in 2006, and acquired by Digieffects in 2007.
