Chapter 9Selecting
In a word processor, most operations are performed by selecting a range of text (usually with the mouse) and then choosing some option from a toolbar or menu—for example to cut the text, or make it bold. Audacity works much the same way: Most operations are performed by selecting audio with the mouse and then applying some operation.
Audacity selections can be more complicated than word processor selections, though. In Audacity, the selection involves a set of selected tracks and then a range of time within those tracks that is selected.
