Podman is a tool for launching Linux containers. Linux containers require a Linux kernel. As much as I’d love to convince the world to move to the Linux desktop like me, most users work on Mac and Windows operating systems—perhaps even you. If you use the Linux desktop, hooray! And if you don’t use a Windows machine, feel free to skip this appendix.
