Chapter 11. Sharing Files Between OpenOffice.org and Microsoft Office

Even if you’re the most dedicated OpenOffice.org person in the world, sooner or later you’ll be asked to share files with Microsoft Office users. Some free-software advocates refuse to save OOo documents in Microsoft Office formats and suggest outputting to HTML, PDF, or RTF instead, but this isn’t always an option, especially if your boss is the one doing the asking.

In OpenOffice.org, you can select File > Wizards > Document Converter to convert all the Microsoft Office files in a folder to OOo format.
