Use the power of peers to motivate and also keep your team focused. There is no more powerful form of recognition or motivational pressure than that which comes from people's own team mates. You don't want to have to spend your time keeping people in line and you most certainly don't want to become seen as the team's resident police officer.

The power of peers has such a powerful influence on all of us because it's a deep rooted tribal thing that goes back a very long way. The need for all of us to belong to and be accepted by our peer group that we have found ourselves relating to and identifying with, is at our very core as human beings. It's part of our genetic makeup, it's in our DNA.
