This book has primarily looked at aspects of policy that are related to translating high-level user needs to device-specific configuration. Many interesting and important areas related to policy-based networking are not covered fully in this book. This chapter provides a brief overview of some related information that should be of interest to you.

Topics that we will examine briefly include the problem of monitoring policy compliance within networks, developing adaptive and state-dependent policies, and policy exchanges across different administrative domains.
