Abstract

In the national German parliaments of the Vormärz period, there were not yet any firmly established parliamentary groups, especially since no parties existed outside the parliament. Nonetheless, the members of the parliament got together in more or less organized and sometimes legally established bodies in the form of departments, commissions, and committees.
