In the previous chapter, we defined five scheduling decisions in container terminals. To recapitulate, these decisions are:
Allocation of berths to arriving vessels and Quay Cranes (QCs) to docked vessels.
Storage space assignment.
Rubber Tyred Gantry Crane (RTGC) deployment.
Scheduling and routing of vehicles.
Appointment times to eXternal Trucks (XTs).
The objectives of this chapter are to survey research done in these decisions and then formulate them as Constraint Satisfaction Optimization Problems (CSOPs).
