Legal Considerations
The first or second question that I’m asked about my street portraits is whether or not I have my subjects sign a model release. It’s a valid question because in this litigious society, people are concerned about their rights and vulnerabilities, especially in the world of photography. Though my personal practices should not be considered legal advice, here I’ll share what my practices are with respect to getting or not obtaining a signed a release.
