Imagine a world without conflict. There’d be no getting over being angry. There’d be no opportunities to “kiss and make up.” The news would be boring. And, one of my family counselor friends said, “If there were no open conflict, I couldn’t help a family in trouble.” She went on to explain that open conflict in a family means ideas are being aired and tested. At least people know what others are thinking, even if it is in the form of disagreement.
