Chapter 3. Server Requirements for Postfix

Before you can get your feet wet with Postfix, you must have a server available for it to run on. The Postfix package was written specifically for the Unix platform. Postfix requires several features of the Unix operating system to operate properly. This prevents Postfix from running on a standard Microsoft Windows workstation (even Windows 2000).
