Chapter 6. Installing Postfix
The previous chapters provided background information describing how the e-mail process works and the general function of Postfix as an e-mail server. This chapter begins the specific Postfix installation instructions by describing how to obtain and install the main Postfix software.
Wietse Venema created and wrote the Postfix software package while working at IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center. IBM has released the Postfix package under a public license so that it can be available free of charge to any Unix e-mail administrator who wants to use it.
