Chapter 12. Using Postfix as an Office Mail Server

The previous chapter described how a Postfix mail server could be configured as an ISP mail server. Postfix can also be configured to support several other types of mail server environments. The most common types of mail servers found in offices are

  • Workstation mail servers

  • Company Intranet mail servers

  • Full-time Internet mail servers

  • Dial-up Internet mail servers

  • Firewall Internet mail servers

Each mail server environment requires a different configuration for Postfix. This chapter describes how to modify Postfix to meet the requirements of each of these environments.
