Back in 2009, I had set up an appointment to meet someone who was going to help me with my books. We scheduled a meeting at a hotel, planned for breakfast at 9 AM sharp. I told him in the confirmation e-mail that I had another meeting at 10:30 AM, so this would give us plenty of time to chat, have a leisurely meal, and for me to get to my next meeting.

It’s been my experience that it’s wise to show up to a meeting a bit early, so at 8:55 AM I was at the entrance to the hotel dining room.
