Boiler Control System

Abstract

Basic control requirements such as philosophy, redundancy, etc., applicable to all control loops and the legends used for typical control strategies adopted in a power plant, are presented. These types of illustrations with write ups and all possible alternatives (such as tilting type or wall-mounted burners) are depicted, which are not normally available in other text or reference books. This chapter mainly covers control of boiler parts, for example, master steam pressure, air and fuel flow, mill air/temperature, furnace draft, drum level, SH and RH temperature, HPBP pressure, SADC, SB pressure, etc. Mutual signal exchanges among different control systems are shown with special notes.
