Integrated Gasifier and Combined Cycle Plant (Pollution Control)

1.0. Introduction

Integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) technology will have high demand in the near future when it comes to catering to large energy needs. It offers a clean efficient option for the production of electricity from coal and other low-cost fuels. Like the circulating fluidized bed combustion boiler (CFBC; see Figure APVI/4), in this technology a variety of fuels such as coal, biomass petroleum coke/resid (residual after distillation), and waste can be used as fuel.
