Models of Power Network and Relevant Power Equipments

Abstract

This chapter describes the small-signal models of different power system components related to the contents of this book. These models have been employed in successive chapters in this book for the analysis of small-signal stability problems in SMIB as well as in multimachine power systems. Models of governor, turbine, power system stabilizer, and different FACTS devices are described. Small-signal model of power system load and power network model are also presented through linearization of their respective algebraic equations. The computation of fundamental equivalent reactance for static VAR compensators and thyristor-controlled series compensators is given in steps. ...
