5.1 Introduction
In this chapter we present a general overview of the transient energy function (TEF) method applied to the classical power system model developed in Chapter 2. The TEF using the center of inertia (COI) formulation will be developed for a multimachine power system. The various steps involved in conducting the transient stability assessment procedure using the TEF method will be described.
