8.1 Introduction
In the previous chapters the basic elements of power system direct transient stability assessment using the TEF method were presented. This included development of the transient energy function and its critical value, identifying the energy responsible for the separation of the critical generators from the rest of the system, the computational issues involved, and applying the TEF method to power system problems. In all this, a relatively simple (i.e., the classical) power system model has been used.
