Distributed Object Models

There are several integrated and competing object models that determine how development will be done. Obviously, PowerBuilder has its own object model in the NonVisualObject, which is the only object type that can be deployed to a distributed environment. What's not so obvious is that PowerBuilder NVOs, when deployed to EAServer, are deployed as CORBA components. PowerBuilder components can also be deployed as COM components using the special COM project types to generate the necessary COM wrappers for the objects. These components can then be deployed to any application server that supports COM components such as Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS), and again, EAServer.
