Client/Server Architecture Evolution

If you take a look at how client/server itself has evolved, from the days when a terminal was connected to a mainframe computer and executed all of its logic on the mainframe computer, to today's world where browser-based clients can be running all over the world, connecting to a network of servers which in turn could be connected to another network to execute the business logic, you begin to realize just how far the technology has come over the past 20 years. Again, to promote further understanding of where things came from, in order to better understand where things are today, and where things are heading in the future, we'll take a closer look at the evolution process.
